  • my son is 13m. I just remove him from someplace he does not belong tell him no and give him something else to play with in an area he can be in. This work most of the time for us. I tell him NO NO only for things where he can get hurt. So , No still has a meaning and not just a word to him.

  • You can not talk and reason with a 1 year old. Their brains aren't developed enough for you to have a sit down about rules and limits. The best you can do is reinforce things. Example (NO, we don't hit the dog) and steer him somewhere else.
