why is it that some woman experience this? adult content

Constipation during pregnancy? I can't stand it...what can I do to help it?

  • eat things with the letter P, pinapple, pears, also, apples really help with constipation, apple juice, apple sauce.

  • I know a lot of times the iron in prenatal vitamins are a big cause of constipation. Lots of water like other women suggested, lots of FIBER in your diet and things like that will help. Ask your OB about stool softeners that are ok for you to take as well!

  • Hormones can have that effect on you. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water, and that you're eating your whole grains, fruits and veggies. Remember you need extra water, because your blood volume has increased (and will continue to), and you're making amniotic fluid. Keep an eye on your urine- ideally, it should be colorless. If you eat a lot of fiber, but don't drink enough water, you can get constipated. Hang in there, and keep an eye on the diet.

  • i get it alot and since i have stared to drink at least 2 glasses of pure orange juice per day every morning when i get up it seems to be alot easier to go to the toilet.... hope that helps
