why am i scared of my dh and me going back to school??

so we talk and decided we both want to go back to school he wants to continue hes massage therapist and become a medical therapist and i want to take business and design classes we both want to provide a better future for our daughter and that's really great and exiting but deep inside im scare of us being in our own thing and falling apart our marriage started kind of rocky but know we better than ever and i want to keep it that way i guess im a little afraid of us liking our independence a little bit to much and forgetting the real important reason why we doing this for our daughter and of course for us too but together am is it wrong of me to feel like this??

  • It's only school. Marriage doesn't mean you're connected at the hips and have to do everything together. Each of you should do something independent of the other. If you're stressing about the impact it will have on your marriage, maybe you have deeper issues that need to be dealt with.

  • Any change is stressful, and you know that school will be a drain on your time. You'll need to let some things slide, for example maybe not keep the house quite as tidy as you have been. But you can do it, and it will make a better life for you and your child.

  • Change can always be scary. But going back to school can be wonderful for both of you. Indepedance is a good thing. It allows you to see each other in a new light and reaffirm your commitment. It normal to be scared but continue on anyway.

  • Change can be scary. Don't be afraid of what might happen - focus on doing the right thing for your family. Getting a better education means living a more comfortable life!
