  • you can't tell the sex by where the placenta is. You have to wait until you are 15-20 wks to find out.

  • Are you sure that where the placenta is actually matters?  I've been pregnant 4 times now and each time the placenta has been in a new place.  It wouldn't be possible to tell the sex of a child I've had by that.

  • gender isn't even decided yet at 8 weeks, regardless of placental position. must be some old wives tale you heard. your baby is nothing more than a tiny peanut with a little heartbeat :) gotta wait a few more weeks to find out! congrats!

  • There was a post sayin u can find out by where the placenta is. They said if its on the rite then its a girl but left a boy. Or vise versa.

  • The location of the placenta has nothing to do with gender. And hate to be contrary, but the gender was decided at the time the sperm entered the egg. Genitals are fully formed at eight weeks gestation, but baby is too small to identify them correctly. Going to have to wait until baby is bigger and hope they aren't shy about it.

  • @2autisticsmom yes, that's correct. i worded what i meant wrong. gender is decided by the sperm that meets the egg, however it is nowhere near visible by 8 weeks yet.

  • It's kewl. Didn't mean to offend if I did. :) Hard to believe for the first seven weeks or so we are all female. my Medical assisting teacher says that's why some men have a "sensitive" side. LOL

  • You can not tell the gender by the placement of the placenta. Just an old wives tale.
