my 6 1/2 month old baby dosent drink milk with bottle while being awake,he drinks it while sleeping it really gets difficult to make him sleep everytime before feeds.how much feed should he be taking he takes rice cereals in the morning and takes veg and fruits also

two spoons of veg and two spoons of fruit................please help

  • 1st, he should only get the fruits, veggies and cereal AFTER he takes the formula/breastmilk. Since his digestive system is still immature, he is not absorbing much nutrition from the solids.

    2nd, if he doesn't take the bottle, don't give him anything else. He will not starve. He will eat when he is ready. Also, he shouldn't be sleeping when drinking. It can lead to mouth/teeth issues even before the teeth have come in and it can also cause him to aspirate.

  • Have you tried a sippy cup? I believe with formula, its 24-32 oz daily.
