  • I choose what I think they will like and what I can realistically accomplish as long as I think I can get away with it. Around age 4 or 5 I will give them two options to choose from. When they are school aged I will give them a little more say, but I will always have the final say since I'm the one who will be taking care of everything.

  • Since they could talk, I've given them some input into where they want to hold their b-day and who to invite. I don't give them free reign, but I come up with a few options that are within my price range and ask them to choose one.

  • 2 for both of our boys

  • Both kids picked their party themes at age 2. I started asking for their input on what kind of party they wanted at the same time. I still, now that they are 6 and 8, retain veto power. ;)

DD wanted a party at a kiddie spa that cost an insane amount of money. I vetoed it and offered alternate suggestions she could pick from. In the end we did a tea party at home which she and her friends LOVED.

  • I would say probably 3. I would just ask them what they wanted on their birthday cake and design the party around the cake.

  • for my sons 3rd birthday i asked him what kind of party he wanted and he told me dinosaurs so i threw him a dinosaur themed party.. cake balloons favors etc... i would let them pick the location at maybe 6 yrs old but that depends on if they want a place u cant afford if thats the case give them choices to whats in your price range
