WYR: Eat caviar (fish eggs), or escargot (snails)?

Ew! Both sound gross..lol. But I think I would go with caviar..snails/slugs are just so nasty.

  • Escargot. I've had it several times, in several different ways (both French and Italian) and they are delicious! I can't do the fish egg thing.. Major texture violation!

  • Hibbingmom - the escargot that I had were prepared similar to shrimp scampi..... dont in a white wine, garlic sauce. Again they were DELISH!!!

  • I've never had either! So I'd hope they could both be presented to me so I could sniff 'em. I'd probably go for the snails, though, because I think they're cooked in butter?

  • The fish eggs, definitely. I'm fairly certain I can catch more parasites from eating snail!

  • Escargot--I've had it several times and each time it was absolutely delicious! Had caviar once and hated it.
