  • At bedtime have a routine that is the same every night. Bath, pjs, read some books, cuddling, etc ......whatever works for you and then leave the room. If she gets up put her back in her bed with NO talking and do it calmly and gently. You can also sit on the floor near the door with your back to the bed. If she gets up put her back. You might have to do it over and over and for a few nights. If she is not getting up just leave her be in her bed even if she is singing, talking to herself, whatever. Some kids go to sleep easily and some have to take time to wind down.

  • When you ask her to do something tell her it has to be done by the time you count to three or there will be a time out OR you can take away the most important thing she has for an appropriate length of time. Every child has a "currency" which is THE most important thing to them. Surely you have an idea what that is for her. Give her a warning what the consequence will be. Also, make sure she totally understands what you are asking. Do it with her a few times and make it fun to teach her. GL!
