will it mess up your washer if you use reg. liquid laundry soup in a (HE) washer?

  • You can, it's just not recommended. You have to use much less.

    I make my own detergent and I use 1/4 cup, whereas someone with a top loader should use a little over 1/2 cup.

  • I've had my front loader HE washer/dryer for over 8 years, and have always used regular detergent. I just use HALF (or less if concentrated) of liquid detergent, bleach, softener, etc. and have NEVER had any trouble--and our washer has seen MANY cycles--my boys' from birth and up, and one hubby who gets REALLY dirty and sweaty doing home and landscape projects! :o)
