dinner ideas?

dh has been out of town since yesterday, and i feel like we've lived off of cereal and junk since...it's just me and our 2 1/2 year old dd and i don't know what to cook for dinner....any suggestions? i really can't do take out, bc i don't have access to our bank account (it was just set up when we moved, and i haven't received my debit card yet)...so what can i make? we had chicken nuggets and mac-n-cheese for lunch...

  • This is what I made tonight, and my babies always love it. I cook up some sausage, any kind, sweet or italian. Then i cook it in cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup. Add whatever spices you like. I add some fresh onion and garlic sometimes too. Then I make pasta. And if I"m on the ball and thinking ahead, I make some biscuits from Bisquik. Mix with noodles. a/o pour it over the biscuits. Cheap and easy.

  • Trey this: many might not think it's healthy, but when I need quick ideals, and have kids it works! My teen cousins gave me this meal ideal. take roman noodles (chicken taste better), chili, queso cheese, ground beef, and doritos or frito chips. Ground the beef, and cook noodles as directed. drain meat and mix in pot with noodles. Add everything else. Meal shouldn't take no more than 20 min. top. Be sure to use only1 or 2 pks of noodles, or you will have a meal for the next 2 days.

  • Pasta and Tofu with Finger-Licking Peanut Sauce
1/2 cup low or no sodium vegetable broth
1/4 cup chunky peanut butter (I use smooth)
    1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
    3 tablespoons brown sugar
    2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 teaspoons grated peeled fresh ginger
2 teaspoons chile paste with garlic (add to taste, it is pretty spicey)
    4 garlic cloves, minced
8 ounces uncooked whole wheat angel hair
1 pound firm tofu, drained and cubed (optional)
1 cup (2-inch) sliced green onions
    1 cup shredded carrot
Combine first 8 ingredients in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat 5 minutes or until smooth, stirring frequently (this can also be done in the microwave; use a tempered glass bowl, like pyrex, cook for 20 seconds, stir, repeat until smooth). Remove from heat. Cook pasta in boiling water 8 minutes, omitting salt and fat. Add tofu, onions, and carrot; drain. Place pasta mixture in a large bowl. Add peanut butter mixtur

  • You can healthy soups that are a meal in itself or there is always frozen Banquet dinners for a $1 each. You can do scrambled eggs & cut up cubed potatoes (First - boil potatoes until they are almost done. You'll know by putting a fork or knife through it. If its easy going in, its done. If you don't want to boil, put in microwave wrapped in a wet paper towel for 5-9 min. Ck at 5min. to start) While potatoes are cooking, mix 4 eggs in bowl- add seasons like little salt. garlic salt, onion powder. When potatoes are done, put both in fry pan. Stir, then mix together. Cook until the eggs are done like you like them. Don't wait until they look hard/rubbery. Remove quickly because they'll keep cooking. Put on plates. Some like to add tomatoes, onions, garlic, mushrooms. U choose. Enjoy! A fast one- take flour tortilla(warm in fry pan), cooked hamburger; cheese. very filling! Or add things like scrambled eggs&potatoes&cheese
