When did you choose to cease referring to your child's age in months?

I am just curious, it irks me a bit when parents speak of their 30- some month child. I stopped this when my son turned one, unless I was speaking to a doctor regarding his health. When he turned one, he was one year old when anyone else asked! I guess I can even give the parents a break on this up until the age of 2 (meaning it should stop at 23 months) but come on, I just read a question referring to a "32 month old"!

  • Around 18 months or so. Anything after age two is too much for me, I always feel like rolling my eyes when I hear 27, 37, 50 months old.

  • when he turned 2 but if I'm asking an age, specific question on here I use months.. a 2 year old who turned 2 a month ago isn't the same as a 2 year old turning 3 in a month

  • I stop at 18 months. It doesn't really bother me to read 30 months though. If they want to refer to their child as a 210 month old then let them. It doesn't really matter to me.

  • Yeah, around 18 months here too. It really became a hassle to keep track.

  • I must irk you, oh well. My son is almost 31 months. I've gotten better at saying "2.5" but we still talk months cuz he is in therapies and has multiple health issues and we talk to medical people the most.

  • @ Sleeping........OMG, u actually came across a mother who referred to their child as 50 months old? that is just creepy! Sounds like she was one of those moms who refuse to let their child grow up, that's just sad. I would be concerned for that child. Although I do not like children much, so I am not a mom who goes around asking about the age of other people's children. I don't care and I really don't understand why others do.
