1 Bump

If a heartbeat of 176bpm is showing at 8 weeks ultrasound is it any indication of a boy or girl??

Just wanting to know if the heartbeat rate being high means im having a girl, alot of people have told me a fast heartrate is a girl and a slower one ranging from 120-140ish bpm is a sign of having a boy?
whats your thought? Or experience?

  • It's tooo early to tell, and generally the baby's heartrate varies from one thing to another all day. GL!

  • That is an old wives tale. Both my pregnancies the heartbeats were generally in the 160s. I had two boys.

  • My first had a fast heart rate, docs indicated it was probably a girl. They were wrong.

  • One of my good friends is an ultrasound tech and she has told me many times that the whole heartbeat/gender association is a myth the HB can be different everytime.

  • At 8 weeks the sex parts aren't even formed. So no, all it means is you have a healthy bean.
