Will you have contractions after your water breaks?

I think my water broke, i'm not one hundred percent sure.
But will you have contractions after it breaks? Bc i haven't felt any yet..

  • You need to get to your Dr. babe.  You only have a short amount of time after your water breaks to have the baby.  You are at an increased risk of infection.

  • Yes... Sometime water break first...not uncommon, or the doctor or midwife, might break it for you.

  • I'm not sure if it broke or not. My dad says it isn't.. My grandma says it might. My aunt says it might. It happened in my sleep so i'm not sure.. I'm really confused.. How do i make my dad concerned enough to take me in? He doesn't want to believe that it really is my water..

  • i would get to the doc or labor and delivery to comfirm your water broke infection risks increase after your water breaks.

  • You need to get checked out if you think your water has broken. (There is potential for infection!) With both of my older kids I didn't start contracting (that I noticed) until 3-4 hours after my water broke.
