Are you really hungry or just have a craving?

I know a lot of pregnant women get cravings and eat whatever they're craving, but are you also really feeling hungry all the time along with those cravings? I'm only in my 2nd trimester is it normal to feel hungry even after eating a meal like 2hours previously??

  • I agree with the second poster. With a baby pushing on my stomach, I can't eat very much at a time, so even after I eat, I want something else a couple hours later.

  • I am in my second trimester as well and I find my meals are not very big at all and I want something to eat about an hour or so after I eat.

  • Yes, I always feel hungry and I hate it! Before getting pregnant I could go hours and hours without eating, no problem, but now I have to stick something in my mouth every couple of hours. It's hard because I don't want to gain too much weight, so I've had to find healthy options. I've found that drinking hot tea (decaf) helps, also eating yellow wax peppers helps make me feel like I've eaten a lot when I know I"m hungry for no real reason cause I've just eaten or whatever. Carrots help too.
