My almost 11 year old daughter wants to have a slumber party for her birthday. Any suggestions for a successful party?

  • Have a theme. That was always the best with us. For instance if they all like Twilight movies have a marathon, get the cake to go with it, plates etc. You can do this with about any movie or band they might like out there. Either way, rent movies. Get alot of make up & nail polish($1 kind works they wont be using it again or going anywhere). My dd always said they wanted a sugar high so they could stay up late. I would set her and her friends up in the livingroom with their make up, candy, etc and sleeping bags and movies they were allowed to watch and then leave them alone as much as I could.

  • you could set up little stations, a nailpolish station, and a funky hair do station(colored hair gel, sparkles, the weirder the better), Maybe you could take some pics of them all and get them developed(someone would have to sneak out for that) and get them to make a picture holder for it, then you could make your own pizzas'- just have it all set up so they can put what they want on theirs and you deal with the oven...movies, WII or whatever, for later on when you want to clean up and relax. If you go right to movies, they might get bored later on when you want things quiet!

  • Have them in a separate room. Food that the girl like. Pizza, chip and dip, soda. get the friends to bring sleep bag even though they are not going to be sleeping. Have nail polish, make-up, movie and music.
