eating shrimp while pregnant

So this may sound like a dumb question, but is it ok to eat small amounts of shrimp while pregnant, or is it suppose to be avoided like the plague? My SO and I are going to dinner tomorrow and my son is allergic to shrimp, so normally I can't eat it and its been many many months. I was looking forward to eating shrimp tomorrow at dinner since my son isn't coming, until I remembered the whole don't eat fish situation. I'm pretty sure the rule is small amounts are ok, its when you eat fish everyday it becomes an issue, but if its suppose to be avoided at all costs i don't want to have any at dinner. Anyone have any idea? Everything I found online pretty much said eat at your own risk

  • seafood in general is not bad in fact it is very healthy. You want to watch out for sulfates in shrimp and mercury in Tuna. This doesn't mean don't eat it it means eat it in moderation. Enjoy your shrimp dinner!!

  • It's generally considered safe, as long as it's thoroughly cooked. Enjoy!
