  • Well, you don't HAVE to buy 3 carseats. We have bought 2 and will not need another ;) And again, you don't HAVE to use pull ups, which seem to be so much more expensice then diapers. We never used them!

  • We have 6 carseats at the moment. 3 for each vehicle. Going to have to buy at least two more before all 3 kids are out of them!

  • My mom told me kids were expensive. Silly old lady! I guess no one ever told her about WIC, food stamps, welfare, free state insurance, goodwilll, salvation army, soup kitchens, church donations, begging for money at intersections, or yard sales. By the way, I'm just joking!!!

  • I don't know. Honestly, I thought parenting would be more expensive. Monthly, I don't think we actually spend more than $50 on my daughter. She has plenty of clothing, eats what we eat, we've had her convertible carseat since she grew out of the infant seat. We did buy an additional carseat, but we're not using it yet since she is still rearfacing, but when she hits 35lbs, we will forward face her in her Graco Nautilus. I really don't think she's that expensive, but we have wonderful, generous grandparents that buy too much.

  • My mother told me kids are expensive and marriage is hard work. The marriage part-- well, you never believe it until you're in it. Thd kid part-- I started saving as soon as hubby and I decided we were ready to hav ea kid in our lives. I managed to save most of the money before he arrived, but man! The sheer initial cost can be staggering... furntiture, carseats, clothing, toys, books, etc.
