  • Oh and it also depends on what kind of a day we have had.  They have rough days just like we do so if they have had a rough day they go to bed early.  Early is about 9pm.  I have a 5 year old, 3 year old, and 1 year old.  When my 1 year old is tired, she gets a blanket and lays down.  I don't have her on a schedule yet, because it hasn't become neccessary.  She likes to sleep when I am but she also sleeps a little later than I do.  My 5 year old and 3 year old on a normal night go to bed at about 11 or 10.  It just depends on that day.  If they get tired before then, we go to bed.  If they are still wide awake, we stay up a little later.  :)

  • My husband laughs because the house closes at 8pm, sometimes 9pm depending on what I am doing. I expect everyone to start winding down in their rooms by 8pm and I want them in bed by 10pm (teens). My younger two are 10 and 5. I expect the 10 yr old asleep by 9, and 5 yr old by 8-8:30.

  • DD is 8, and she can be in bed reading at 7:30, lights off at 8. DS is 5 and he needs to be asleep by 7-7:30. He goes looney if he stays up.

  • My daughter is 11 months, and she's usually in bed by 7:30 at the latest. My son is 4 and goes to bed between 7:30 and 8 depending on if he had a nap.

  • My sister has her kids take a 2 hour nap in the afternoon and then puts them to bed at anywhere between 3 and 7pm, then complains about how early they get up in the morning. They are 6, 5, and 3, too old for a 2 hour nap in the daytime, never mind such an early bedtime.

  • I have a 3.5-yr-old and a 21-mo-old. We start getting ready for bed around 7-7:15, with the goal of being in bed by 7:45. Especially my 3-yr-old. They both still take naps most days, the older one 3-4 hours and the younger one maybe 2 hours. The 3-yr-old especially needs his sleep, and I would feel neglectful if I didn't get him to bed early enough (read: before he starts throwing tantrums from being over-tired).
