Do you think that a child's behavior is learned or it is their personality traits?

My 5 year old has always been a wonderful child from a newborn until now. She never went through the terrible two's or any of that. So it makes me wonder was it our parenting or just the way she was born or a combo of both. What do you think?

  • I think it's a combination of both.

  • Since children learn through imitation then yes behavior is learned. It can be influenced by things such as environment, hormones and possibly personality.

  • Both. I have 5 kids and obviously my parenting style has stayed the same with all of them. They all came out differently, and reacted to my parenting in different ways. My oldest son was always bull headed as a child and still is. His sister was always a good baby who gave me little problems, and as an adult she is still that way.

  • I am on the middle of the fence on this. I say that because DH acts EXACTLY like his FATHER whom he has never met. (Just stories from his Mom about his dad)
