  • Call the school board and ask them what they do with their old books. We have a warehouse of them and they can't sell them. They have to give them away.

  • I don't know about free, but I get lots of our books at the local thrift store. I get books there 12 for $1.00. What kinds of books are you looking for (specific publisher, age level, subject, etc)?

  • Free? Why?

You could try for used books, probably quite low cost, because there is little demand for them outside the system that tends to provide their own.

They are riddled with errors, from incorrect instruction to error-filled 'answer' keys. Often the questions are incorrectly stated, the answers are mis-numbered, and the 'facts' they describe have never been true. For fun, they're entertaining to work through just to highlight the mistakes. For education, they're pretty sad resources.

  • I am looking for some math, language arts, reading, and any other books so I can catch up on my academics.

  • You can also place an ad on Craiglist or your local newspaper.
