"turd" ?

WOuld it bother you if another mother kept saying "turd" to or in front of your child?
ex -- I was with another mother and her 3.5 year-old and she kept referring to Whataburger as "what-a-turd" -- I was like OMG! UGH! I then told my child to NOT say that word ---- The other mom was like .... "what?? It isn't a cuss-word -- it's just un-ladylike" !!!!!!
Would it bother you?

  • I don't know that it 'bothers' me per se. I think the way she used it was pretty trashy. I woulld limit my childs contact with her. I personally believe if you have a good vocabulary you should use it. Cursing and slang used constantly makes you sound uneducated. That's my opinion anyway.

  • I tell my Son He is being a turd sometimes. So no, I see nothing wrong with the word. It's better than her saying "shit" in front of your kid, now isn't it?

  • I understand your concern of not wanting to have your child repeat it- but believe me, your child will be hearing much worse! (I know that's not the comforting answer you were looking for- but to be honest, I have jokingly called my kids "little turds"- so I think the word is kinda harmless really)
