Why can you do vote ups but not vote downs?

When I've run out of my day's allotment of vote ups, I can still vote up an answer- just dont get pts for it. But if I've used all my vote downs, that's it- no more till tomorrow. That stinks- b/c some really need a thumbs down- & I only have 2 left! -lol

  • Maybe it's because if you only have a limited number of votes down available to you, you'll be more careful about using them?
