Are you one of these people?

When I was working at Taco Bell a while back, people would order things that would cause the final total to be $6.66. After hearing/seeing that number, they would freak out and demand that something else be added to change the total. My mom is also like that, and many other people in our family. IMO, it's just a number, but to each their own. If you do this (make sure your total isn't $6.66), why? I mean, I've heard that "It's the devil's number!" over and over again, but what significance does that have in that situation? (I'm not trying to bash or anything, I just don't understand why exactly people freak out so much when that's their total.)

  • Every time we go to Mcdonald's our total is 6.66. The cashier always mentions it but I don't mind it.

  • I suppose it is like the number 13 people just assume something bad might happen. I have never had a total of 6.66 so i am not sure what i would think but technically it is 6 dot 66 so im not sure i would think about it as 666

  • No. The number is 666. No decimals, no zeros, nothing else. Even if the total is $666.00, it isn't the number. I told my son I was going to get him a shirt that said '333' because he is only half bad!!!!! (oh, he's 16; he understood the joke.)
