So, why didn't we ever hear about this?!

Why was this planned attack on a politician gone awry due to mistaken identity not splashed all over every media outlet?!  Could it be due to media bias, the fact that the weapon of choice was a knife and therefore was of no use in furthering the agenda of those against the Second Amendment, or was it because the attacker was a hate-filled left-wing anarchist, and since there was absolutely no way he could be tied to any right-wing groups the story was simply buried?!

"In September 2010 Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon was scheduled to speak at Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City.

At some point, wearing black clothes and a bullet-proof vest, 22 year-old Casey Brezik bolted out of a classroom, knife in hand, and slashed the throat of a dean. As he would later admit, he confused the dean with Nixon.

The story never left Kansas City. It is not hard to understand why. Knives lack the political sex appeal of guns, and even Keith Olbermann would have had a hard time turning Brezik into a Tea Partier.

Indeed, Brezik seems to have inhaled just about every noxious vapor in the left-wing miasma: environmental extremism, radical Islam, anti-capitalism, anti-Zionism and Christophobia, among others.

In his "About Me" box on Facebook, Brezik listed as his favorite quotation one from progressive poster boy, Che Guevara. The quote begins "Our every action is a battle cry against imperialism" and gets more belligerent from there.

On his wall postings, Brezik ranted, "How are we the radical(s) (left) to confront the NEW RIGHT, if we avoid confrontation all together?"

As good as his word, Brezik's marched on Toronto in June 2010 to protest the G20 Summit, where he was arrested, charged, and deported. "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED," he boasted.

Like many on the left, Brezik seemed to have found religion.

In reference to an article about Terry Jones and his proposed Quran burning, Brezik posted on the day before his planned assault, "This is now a Holy war. Scriptures have been desecrated. War U can't handle. Make a choice and quick."

No doubt, Brezik is something of a whack job, but the various rages that he acquired -culminating in Sudden Jihadi Syndrome - are those to which our students are exposed on a daily basis. For the last century or more, it is the progressive fever swamps that have nurtured most of the world's hate and virtually all of its violence, including, paradoxically, radical Islam.

As Casey Berzik cried out with multicultural flair, "El Futuro es La REVOLUCION!" But if an assassin strikes in a media vacuum, and no one hears him, can there ever be a revolution?"

  • www.americanthinker.com is an excellent source for critical analysis of issues. The answer to your question is that the media is so left-wing that it cannot get approval to nationalize stories if they carry a negative event involving one of their own interests. It is a scandal that we are living with but I do see light at the end of that long, dark tunnel.

  • Does not surprise me the left wing media would over it up.

Also does not surprise me that the girls on the left would try to make out that it is not a big deal.

  • This is why I would support setting a mandatory death penalty for anyone who uses a weapon (gun, knife, baseball bat, pencil) to commit a crime.

Guns get all the attention, but they are NOT the only weapon that is used to cause harm or death. They ARE the only ones that anyone ever screams for more laws and/or regulations for.

A nutter is a nutter, and if they want to hurt someone they will use whatever is available. The fact is that many people can't quite grasp that. The reason is because no other weapon is sensationalized the way guns are ... although I question why sane, rational people can't figure it out in spite of the media bias.

The only way to end this sort of violence is to go after the criminal ~ not the 'weapon' they choose ~ and to not let them skate if they claim insanity.

  • The media prefers guns and more casualties and is less interested in the political views of the assailants unless the victims happen to be in the political arena. Has any question been asked about the political views of the assailants in the recent Detroit and Washington State shootings ? I think not . Or the notorious Columbine massacre ? The plain reality is that a stabbing in Kansas is small beer to a media with an appetite for more serious crime. It has nothing to do with so-called ' media bias '

There are many incidents you never hear about . With some 11,000 deaths annually in the US caused by firearms alone , you would be hard-pressed to keep up with them all.
