  • My kids weren't eating solids at 5 months, but when they started a couple months later we were doing once every 2-3 days. Eventually it was once a day and they weren't eating 3 times a day until 11-12 months.

  • All 5 of mine were eating solids 3 times/day by 7 months, but I didn't start with solids until 6 months.

  • I wouldn't have started at that age, but since you did, I would offer solids once every few days, once every other day, or once a day, immediately after nursing or a bottle. You can GRADUALLY increase the amount offered and the amount of times a day you offer. Take it easy and follow baby's lead. What does ECB stand for?

  • I would think breakfast, lunch and dinner. My DH is a little chunker and loves solid foods.

  • It's fine to start at that age, btw. I'd say feed your baby when you eat. We did that with our son and it was about 3 times a day.

  • My son gets solids once a day, but he eats quite a bit of them then. His favorite is carrots (which is the first thing after rice cereal that we gave him) and so each new food gets mixed with his carrots the first time he has it. At first we fed him solids every few days, then every other day, and now its almost every day. Just once a day though.
