spices to add to this soup...?

i made a WW soup last night and it was pretty bland. what spices would you suggest adding to it? here are the ingredients:

chicken broth
yellow [i used orange] bell pepper

pretty sure that was it.

  • sazon and cilantro! Sazon is a spice mix that comes in little packets you get it on the 'ethnic foods' aisle.

  • garlic powder, pepper, and if you wanted you could spice it up with a little chili powder and cumin.

  • Coriander
    Cracked pepper

    I would also add a dash of worchestershire sauce or liquid smoke. Add some sundried tomatoes (chopped). They make for a beautiful flavor base when they rehydrate.

    I would have also added some celery, an onion, and perhaps another root veggie- parsnip most likely.

    You should also start your veggies in a little olive oil with your spices before you add the broth/water. It builds your flavor base. Too late for this time, but try it next.

  • Garlic and a little Cayenne pepper. Oh and add a little salt and pepper for good measure. Other options are Cilantro and a bay leaf.
