do you think the law gives women lighter sentences when they commit a crime ?

i think sometimes the law does go light and fluffy when it comes to women.

  • no, but society in general sure does. We're full of double standards in society.

    example: a man without drive and ambition is looked down on far more than a woman (esp an attractive one) who does the same thing

  • I think they do, they rape little boys and get probation and then do it again and get a year in jail, a man does that he gets forever...

  • No I don't . Rapists, child molesters and predators of all kinds are let out on the streets to re offend several times over. I don't think women get it any easier.

  • Whether the final sentences given are lighter or not, I'm not sure, but I do believe society in general (and juries are compromised of these folks) has a harder time grasping and accepting the concept that women can be every bit as evil and deadly as men.

  • I agree with mrssundin re: sexually based crimes; women tend to get far lighter sentences. Several years ago there was a PTA president at our local high school who slept with several 15-16 year old boys. She got probation. I'm sure if she was a man there would have been significant jail time.
