What time does your toddler go to bed?

My 20 month old and i start her bedtime routine around 7 and shes usually in her crib by 730ish...lately she hasn't seemed tired at that time and some other moms told me that they think 730 is early for bedtime...whenever i keep her up later she gets up earlier though! If she goes down around 730 she sleeps until 630ish but when she stays up later she up at 6 or before...what do you think?

  • Mine tends to crash where he lands, but my 21 mo old goes to bed after the rest of my kids. School kids in bed by 9, asleep by 10, my 4 yr old in bed by 9:30, asleep 10 minutes later. The baby...I had to wait till he wasn't a distraction for the rest of the kids...so he gets bored, but he's in the room by 10p and will either fall asleep right away or the last time he stops knocking on his door is closer to 11p.

  • Wow my ds has always gone to bed between 8-9. I am not sure why your lo wakes earlier if she goes to bed later. I guess do what works for you and don't worry about what anyone else says :)

  • my 21 month old goes to bed late. I try between 10 & 11pm. Friday night he was up until midnight. We are kind of a second shift family here though. We don't typically start our days until 9am or later.

  • my son is 26 months, he has gone too bed at 7 every night since he started sleeping through the night and was on a schedule. hes the same way, if i keep him up later, he will be up earlier. but he is slowly making it a 7:30 bedtime, which is fine. hes usually up at 6:30 also. i would love it if i could put him to bed at 9 and he would sleep til 9, who knows why it doesn't work that way.

  • My DS is about 32 months, and he usually goes to bed around 7:30 or 8. If he skips his nap, sometimes it's earlier (around 7). If we stay out too late and he goes to bed after 8, he usually wakes up really early in the morning--and he's cranky and generally temperamental. If he goes to bed by 8-ish, he will usually sleep until at least 7 am (occasionally 7:30). He's had a similar bedtime for a long time now. The naps are the only thing that really changed. He unpredictable about napping, but still takes about an 1 1/2 one most days. He at least does an hour of 'quiet time' even if he fights sleep, then we just put him to bed by 7-ish. All kids are different, I just went with bedtimes that seem to work for his natural rhythm and for us.

  • Wow, I'd just love to have all three of mu kid in bed by at least 9-9:30. Never happens. Our almost 5 yr old hates bed and can be up very very late (not that I allow it or like it). It is a constant battle in our house. She just cannot sleep.
