I hate wasting all the plastic for bottled baby water, can I just boil the water from my tab and use that?(I have a filter for the sink)

  • I have always just used filtered tap water. No need to use special water!

  • I just used it right out of the tap. There are no issues with it. If you are worried, ask your pediatrician.

  • Yes. I used hot tap water, it is safe. But if you are worried boiling it and storing it is absolutely safe.

  • I used tap water for my one son, and he got diarea and spit up a lot. My doc. at the time, and the lady at the WIC office were horrified that I had even attempted it, and insisted that he had the diarea and was spitting up so much bc of the tap water. I switched to the gallon jugs and he still spit up a lot (ended up having to put him on soy), but the diarea stopped. So who knows. Maybe ask your dr, or just do what you feel is best.

  • I agree if you have a filter on your sink it should be fine.

  • I have formula fed 5 kids over the last 10 years (in 4 different states) and have always used plain tap water (only when we lived in PA did we have a filter on the tap). If it's drinkable for me it's fine for my kids, including the baby.

  • I guess you can use tap water, but the tap water in my city has added flouride...I think its a bit too much for newborns...
