Why do people anonymously answer non-personal questions?

Is it a default for some? I just don't get why some questions would be answered anonymously ... is it vital that we don't know your favorite color, if you like pedicures or how many pets you have?

  • It's a privacy issue have you ever googled your username before? I have and it brought up questions I have answered and asked journal enteries. I mean I don't care who sees it I won't put anything on here I wouldn't let my dh or anyone read. But thats why its a privacy thing.

  • 2 reasons:
    - they can't get flamed, teased or judged in later threads based on what they said
    - they don't want someone they know IRL that comes here to see what they said (it maybe too personal or embarrassing)

  • I have no idea why. Maybe they think it's funny to keep others wondering.. 'who is that?'.

  • If you use anon to tell all your lies, they don't come back to bite you in the ass later.
