Just get on it and start moving. Maybe if you have a program setting like climbing hills or cardio weight loss. Pick one of them and set a time for how long you would like to be on it. What I do when I use the elliptical is have a time I would like to be on the elliptical. let's say 30 minutes cardio weight loss with continuous movement and maybe do a extra 5 minutes moving the legs backwards. make sure you stand up straight and hold your stomach in.
