is it possible to ovulate and NOT be pregnant or NOT have a period afterwards? what else could be the cause of a delayed period?

I know i've ovulated because i got a positive opk.

  • Yes, it can happen. I would ovulate monthly yet only get a period every 5 months or so.

  • Stress is a big factor in missed periods. Or you could be pregnant and the tests not pick up enough Hcg levels. You may want to consider getting a blood test done.

  • When you have an anovulatory month, it doesn't have to be caused by stress. Your body goes thru the motions but doesn't release an egg. This can cause early period and late periods.

    The last time I had an anovulatory month, it was 72 days before my period finally came. i am a normal 31 day cycle.
