Does anyone else here having a hearing problem?

I'm deaf in one ear and partially deaf in the other.

Also, I have vision problems as well.

What caused your hearing loss? Was it hereditary?

I had menigitis as an infant and that affected my hearing and vision.

  • I have what I call "weak ears" this resulted from me being "legally deaf" multiple times in my life. I had 6 sets of tubes (the first before I was a year old) and a 7th surgery at 14 to correct all the damage that the two previous doctors had done with the multiple sets of tubes. I can hear fine for the most part now, but I still get frequent ear infections in my left ear and it renders me nearly deaf in that ear until I complete a course of antibiotics.

I also have glasses, my vision isn't awful, but it's not great and bad enough that I have to wear glasses or contacts in order to do anything. (With the exception of sleeping of course. lol)

Mine is all hereditary or just bad luck. Either way I'm used to it by now.

  • Mine may be partially hereditary, but also in my former job I went to places where loud speakers were used. Even though I used ear plugs I believe there was damage.
