What side dishes work with fish?

I purchased some Mahi mahi. Aside from fish sticks and tuna fish, we aren't really fish eaters...well, never really tried. Hubby, however, eats fish so I decided to do something nice and decided to cook Mahi mahi for dinner for either tonight or tomorrow, but I have no idea really what side dishes work for fish.

I was thinking salad and asparagus. Or maybe something like rice with peas/carrots. Mashed potatoes and...corn? LOL, I'm really not sure what types of food would work with fish...any ideas?

  • I like rice with it. We actually, just tonight, had fish, rice, and green beans. I'm not big on potatoes with fish, pasta with a light sauce is pretty good. I like mild veggies with fish, peas are my personal favorite.

  • Spinach/Kale sauteed with onions, garlic and tomatoes with a nice light pasta with a wine or butter sauce or beets/raddishes with a touch of lime juice and salt.

  • Love the asparagus idea! I buy those cheap boxes of cous cous when I make it. Like $3 per box and you just add water.
