  • No. Our accountant said that it wasn't as good as opening a Roth IRA (or other long-term savings plan) for our kids.

  • But, it's just getting money back on stuff you're already buying, right? Not contributing actual money to it...

  • Maybe I'm confused on the program; the one I was talking about is where you buy future college credits to local universities at today's prices.

  • Upromise is where you get a small percentage of purchases from various specific places you buy at and they go towards an existing college loan or towards saving for your child for college.

  • It can be if you use it correctly or have a bunch of people use it. I just had problems getting my cards onto my account.
