Any good home made playdough recipe?

My kids are home from school for yet another snow day. They want to play with playdough, but I don't have any. I have made it in the past, but I need an easy recipe that the kids can enjoy with the least amount of ingredients.
Thank you!!!

  • I would just mix flour, water, and a couple of eggs....make a dough and let them play with it...a drop of food coloring if you have it....

  • I would not use eggs in a playdough. Kids lick their hands and they can get salmonella D:

Here is a cool site that show lots of different recipes, so you can make one with the ingredients you have on hand...

  • 1 cup flour, 1/3 cup salt, 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar, and 1 cup water and 1tsp oil. The cream of tartar is just so it stays fresh longer. Mix dry ingredients and boil water and oil. Mix all together. I also put food coloring in or some spices that smell good. The kids love it. After it's mixed lay it on a piece of wax paper to cool. It lasts for around 2 months if stored in a ziploc bag

  • I love making my own playdough and used to do it at least once a month for my classroom. I have a lot of craft recipes on my website, here's the link to that main page http://www.scoutmom.net/craftrecipes/index.htm

The recipe I used most often was the Kool Aide Playdough http://www.scoutmom.net/craftrecipes/koolaidplaydough.htm
