Good Pillows?

I've paid $3.99 for pillows (Target) and $75.00 (Ralph Lauren), and just about every price in-between. It seems like they get lumpy/lose their fluffiness after just a few months. I know you're supposed to replace pillows after a year or so, but I don't think I've ever had one last even 6 months.

Is this normal, or is there a brand that lasts longer?

  • I have to use a temperpedic..they are wonderful...they are about $120 but just like the bed, they never have to be replaced or lose their shape. I can't use the regular pillows, they go too flat and hurt my neck. I saw such a difference when we switched :)

  • I only use down pillows, anything else kills my neck. Last year at this time I bought two new pillows at Sam's Club for about $25 each and they are still in perfect shape. I always use a hypoallergenic cover and then a pillow case and that extends the life of the pillow too.

  • you can get them generally at any mattress store that sells temperpedic....yes, they are guaranteed for 20 years....I've had my bed and my pillows for about 5 and all through my pregnancy and it was heaven sent!! I couldn't believe the difference :) My mom is actually borrowing my pillow right now, b/c she has a bad neck and has even said she feels a difference. Totally worth the investment in my opinion :)

  • I always use latex pillows. They are hypoallergenic and you can usually find them for $50-100. They keep their shape well.

  • We get Sealy pillows at costco $9.99 for 2 and they last! They are very comfy and we have not had any get lumpy.

  • I buy the goose down feather pillows at 2 for 1 sales at Macys - expensive but worth their wear.

  • I've never tried those - do you get them at a temperpedic store? Are they guaranteed?

  • Thank you, Calliesmommie, I'll have to go check those out. If they last and are comfortable, they are well worth the investment.

I'm going to have to look into Down pillows again as well - maybe with two covers they would hold up? (I've tried them before and they went flat as a pancake.)
