What is your best way to stay alert and awake during care giving nights?

  • Is the person you are caring for capable of waking you up if you go to sleep? If so, I wouldn't worry about staying alert but if that's not an option I'd drink tea (or anything with caffeine) and leave some noise on like a radio or tv if possible.

  • Ok I just drove to Florida from Kentucky this past weekend. My husband is deployed so I had to make the drive myself with 4 kids. Buy some no doz, 5 hour energy and full throttle or what ever energy drink you like. I didnt have to use all three at once but I did sip on 5 hour energy and my full throttle. The no doz pretty much was good and I did sip on coffee every now and then on the way home. And something to snack on like hot tamales helped also.
