Books -- what's the difference between... (reading)

What is the difference between a "regular" book (1st ed.) and a "newly expanded" edition? thanks!

  • Usually, updates are in the subsequent additions. Things change so they need to add new information.

  • Some times, in an 'expanded edition', there might be something written by the author about the book, like why they wrote it, or how they felt about it. It also might have some parts that they left out of the 1st edition, like a chapter they didn't really like or the editor didn't like. It's till the same book, just with a few extras...it's almost the same as abridged and un-abridged...it's edited and un-edited...
