When did you move your child to a toddler bed, if early, was it successful?

My son is 17 mos old and he has a drop side crib, which are no longer safe, so we are getting him a toddler bed with guard rails on both sides. Just want to prepare for the transition, any advice?

Our daughter did fairly well with her new bed, moving into it around 18-19 mos, but now at age 3 wants to always sleep with us, so she sneaks in, in the middle of the night!

  • In a nursery babies move to toddler room when they are 12-15-month-old. There are toddler beds in the toddler room. I prefer the low toddler beds so they can go up and down without falling off. There are so many different type of toddler beds. All cool:) Good luck mommy:)

  • We never used a toddler bed. When the kids were 2 we just bought a mattress and box spring and put them on the floor. We put the mattresses up on bed frames when they were about 5.
