I need advice on a new printer

My printer is about 7 years old. For the last few days it's been making a weird grinding noise and I get an error message saying the ink cartridge is unable to move.
So I think it's about time I buy a new printer. I don't print photos. I just use it for paper, for the kids' homework reports etc.

Can anyone recommend a good basic printer?

  • just a basic HP will do you good. But make sure it's wireless!

  • HP, Canon, Epson, Brother....any base model will do you. Just don't purchase Lexmark - cheap printers with expensive ink cartridges.

  • I love all HP products...they last and they have easy access to the paper, where to take a paper jam out, ink, etc. I love mine. :) I do wish now I would have gotten one so I could print "wirelessly" (i don't know if that's the right word).
