  • I know a mom who lets her kids stay up as long as they want, even if it's until 5am. I couldn't even imagine allowing my children to do that, especially since creating that habit will be miserable to break come school time. My two year old goes to bed at 9-9:30. My one year old goes to be at 8-8:30. We change diapers, put them in PJ's, give them their drinks, tuck them in, and tell them we love them. My kids will always have a set bedtime, especially when school starts up. I think it's important to have that routine. Not only so they know what to expect, but it keeps their body on a schedule. Which I believe is healthier then going to bed whenever and waking up whenever.. The kids both wake up at 8:30 and on some rare occassions 9-10. Beautiful when I get to sleep in, but it's rare. Ha!

I would go nuts if my kids stayed up so late! Not to mention, they have a harder time with self-control when they stay up so late, so that would just be added stress for all of us. I have a friend who's 1- and 2-year-old stay up that late. They're also sick constantly.
