Just curious, any moms out there not give your kids snacks between meals?

I find myself to be an oddity in this, and I'm just wondering if there's anyone else...?

  • I usually don't. We have regular mealtimes and they eat well. In my house, offering snacks just increases their begging for them and that just drives me nuts! However, there is always fruit available to them if they get hungry...which also helps reduce the times they ask for a snack out of boredom, heh heh heh...

Plus we keep a lot of snacks out of the house because I have zero willpower when it comes to eating "just one."

  • Some days I do but I usually don't. I'm so sick of all the snacks kids get.

  • We do five or six small meals throughout the day. Both my little ones are susceptible to blood sugar drops and their behaviors are much better when they eat small and frequent. So yes, they do "sack" but really, it's little meals.

  • I encourage my kids to snack here and there, mostly because they don't really eat much and I want to make sure they are getting enough.

  • My dd is extremely small (36 inches and 30 lbs at 4 year old) so her doctor said let her eat anytime she will, however of course we keep it healthy, I try anyway. She gets one junk food snak a day (unless we eat fast food that day, then that is her junk) other then that it is fruit, veggies or yogurt (for the most part). There are days that this just doesnt happen, but it is what I try to stick to.

  • I give snacks to my DD. She loves fruits and cold carrots. If it's healthy, I am all good with it.

  • YES....snacks are good for them and teaches them a healthy way to eat. I am talking healthy snacks not junk.
