I am doing research for my child psychology class. What kind of parenting style to do think you use. You can pick one or more then one (most parents are more then one) and also what style you think your parents were. If you also wouldn't mind putting your race, that would also be very helpful
Authoritarian- dictatorship, parents are in charge, children have no say in anything and the rules are the rules and are not to be questioned
i.e.: Parent to child "you are going to be in band and you will play the flute"
Authorative- parents are in charge and there are rules and consequences but the children are given the children room to explore and rules are explained to them
i.e.: Parent to child "you need to do some kind of activity in school but you can choose what you want it to be"
Permissive- Children are pretty much given free reign and there is little to no discipline.
i.e.: Parent to child "you can do or not do any activity you want"
Uninvolved- Parents are uninvolved (easy one right)
i.e.: Parent to child "do whatever just don’t' expect me to pick you up from anything"
Thank you so much for your help, the more responses I get the better!
