  • My dd's preschool used to charge $5. a minute after 6! She's getting off light! $25. a day is CHEAP for two kids! She already has a good deal, tell her how it is, or tell her to find a new sitter!

  • I think you are being more than fair! That's a good rate for childcare from what I hear, and late is late. I have a friend who has to pay $60 if she is late more than once in a month picking her child up from daycare at a facility.

  • Stand your ground.  You have a life outside of watching her children and if she can't bother to show up on time, she should be charged.  Your not babysitting for free.  Would she expect to pay the same amount on her gas bill if that was late?  Nope, she'd pay more.  I think you are being reasonable.

  • Honey, seriously. 9 hours a day for 25. works out to about 2.60? per hour? She probably would be getting overtime if she worked 9 hours, plus you are watching her kid for the 2nd shift, which pays a differential of about .10 to .25 per hour, I think you should seriously consider raising your rates! Tell her the free ride is over!

  • you are being more than fair for sure! if she doesnt like that then you can do one of two things...1. raise your price because you are ripping yourself off already, or 2. suggest she finds other care, which im sure she'll be paying much more than that to begin with.....maybe she'll rethink her attitude and realize she has it made and stop complaining

  • Stand your ground. People who get "deals" very often abuse the generosity...hence the person being late. And, they hope you will back down because you are already a "softie" by giving a deal. STAND YOUR GROUND because if you don't, you'll regret it.

  • You are being more than fair. If I were to pick up my daughter late from day care they charge $1.00 a minute for every minute after 6:00.
