  • Did you all know that if u hold the dog's nose lightly, he can't shake cause the shaking begins in the nose

  • I would take him to the vet. Bad breath could mean there's something wrong with his teeth. Make sure he does not have an ear infection. An infected ear can stink to high heaven!! Talk to a groomer. Maybe they can recommend a shampoo that smells good for longer than 2 days.

  • Is it his food maybe?

  • Dogs like to stink. When he gets a bath, he thinks he stinks. He will actually go roll around in his bedding to get his scent back. Ugh... I know, it's disgusting. As soon as my dog gets back from the groomer, he's so fresh and clean.. then he goes to his bed, rolls around the even licks his fur... Yuck! You can try some spray cologne, but that's not very long lasting either. I wish my dog could just get up in the morning, take a shower and clean himself... LOL!!!

  • As for body odor, could be a dietary issue, what does he eat? Can food or dry food? If he eats nothing but can food that would one problem, depending on he breed. As for bathing him once a week, do u live in the northern part of the US? Is it cold there? Snow? If yes, I wouldn't advise it, even using oatmeal base, it could still dry out the skin, just like humans. Wal-mart, or pets stores will have spray u can u can use in between baths. For his teeth, get the milk bone dog treats. That cleans his teeth better the brushing the teeth.. Use them as treats 2 to 3x a day. There is also "denta-bones'. It ill smell like spearment, or the stores will have a specfic type of teeth cleaning choices.

  • If he still stinks despite these treatments, go see a vet. Try these options first before seeing a vet, unless u want to. I know our vet has a $40 office fee. Read the woman wh said about an infection in the ears, good possibility. tyouch his/her ears, if they are really red and warm, he could have an infection, and sometimes it will smell. But since this smell has been a long time issue, then itys unlikely. Your will be shaking his head, scratching at his ears CONSTANTLY.. Also after he does his dirty deed, make sure he doesn't have any dingleberrys. (tiny pieces of poop).

  • What does he smell like? If it's just your average stinky dog smell, it could be the food, try switching to a natural brand if you don't already have him on one. If it's sort of a fishy smell, take him to the vet or your groomer and have them check his anal glands (gross, I know). Some dogs need to have them "drained" (i can't think of the proper term right now, lol!) occasionally, and it makes for a fishy smell if it isn't done.

  • some breeds have to have their anal glands squeezed or else they smell awful..i'm not sure about yours though

  • He might need a dental exam. Nothing stinks more than an infected or abcessed tooth!
