is it good for the health to drink coffee right after a heavy cardio workout (running for 1 hour for example)?

i am a regular runner, say run for 5 km 4 times a week. usually i prefer to drink a cup of coffee (cold) strong in cafeine one hour after the workout. is it good for my health?

  • Caffeine speeds up the heart. Its usually not good, especially if you have any kind of heart problem, which I'm sure you don't.

  • No...you need protein to rebuild your muscles- not caffeine. Water will also help to restrand your muscles as well as continue to flush your system of toxins. I'm a runner and I drink water and usually have yogurt or something like that after a workout...chocolate milk is a fabulous after workout drink BTW.

  • It's an hour after your workout, I doubt it's hurting you. I'd just make it decaf

  • I doubt it is that big of a problem but it might have an affect on your heart. Id check with your dr.
