I'm 40 weeks pregnant and still not dilated. What will help me dilate?

  • Its said that walking and vaccuming will put you into labor. So do lots of walking and cleaning.

  • I hear walking around a LOT helps some people. That sucks that you're not dilated yet, you've made such a good home for your baby that they don't want to come out =]

  • having sex is supposed to help you dialate the semen is supposed to soften you cervix

  • None of that really works, just a coensidence if it does. My first I had right on my due date and my last two where both late and all I did was walk and they still induced me and I was dilated to 2 with both.

  • TIme really. I was dilated to 1 from 37 weeks on, but baby wasn't engaged at all. I didn't dilate past 1 until I was into hard labor.

  • They say sex, walking, and exercise helps. But none of those helped me :-( The Dr. "stripped my membranes" and that brought on labor within 2 days.
