  • how did they find out? and why exactly is that illegal if they have custody or even share custody . i mean it was just the father's home. its not like it was like a random address. is there more to the story? i don't see anything wrong with it.

  • Throwing her in jail though? I swear we have rapists who get no damn jail time but people get jail time for little white lies. Now talk about a major waste of tax money. What a friggen joke.

  • She used her Fathers address. Bottom line..she broke the law. If she wants her kids in those schools she has to move to that district. Not only did the schools they attended lose did the schools they were supposed to attend. It has nothing to do with race. It has to do with breaking the law. All of us want something better for our children. There is a right way and a wrong way to achieve that and consequences for the choice you make.

  • Oh please I am sure some you guys do worst crap and don't realize it, again what a waste but let the pedos be free. The address was the fathers not made up. Plenty of families assume their child has 2 addresses when parents live apart.

Answer by Crystal8327 at 12:28 PM on Jan. 27, 2011

  • To answer the question 'why jail?" because the district they were attending lost approximately $30,000 that is theft of good or services. The district she had them attending had no open enrollment. You have to live inside the boundaries of the district. THEN she lied repeatedly to the district about it.

  • That story was mis-reported in a few media outlets; there was a lot more to the.

If you want your children to go to a good school, do it the right way. Live in that district, if your district has open enrollment take advantage of it, or ask for a scholarship to go to the better school if you can't afford to live in that district. It's not fair to the people that are living in the "good" district, paying higher property taxes and living expenses, having children attend the district who are not contributing. They are using resources that they didn't pay for.

Yes, there are some districts that need to be fixed. Yes, some public schools are in serious trouble. But it's not fair or right to go outside the law and put your kids in a district you don't contribute to.
