What exactly does this mean "The petitioner requests that the court order...

include a provision for medical insurance coverage whether or not coverage is available and affordable in accordance with FCA 416 and DRL 240. Additionally, the petitioner requests and uninsured medical provision be included.

What exactly does this mean in simple terms?

  • That they want to make sure the child is covered by health insurance, whether or not it is through employer of either spouse, or paid outright, or maybe through your state's program. The uninsured medical provision means that there needs to be some sort of agreement between the two of you of who pays what for the costs that are not covered by medical insurance, for instance 50/50 split or 40/60 split. Doesn't mean the Court will necessarily order it, just means the Petitioner is requesting that it be done.

  • Petitioner is the person taking the other person to court. That person is asking the other person to be required to pay for medical insurance or be responsible for medical bills
